When I first moved here over 20 years ago, it was because it was a very accessible spot. Commuter Rail to Boston and two exits on either end of town for Rt.495, a major interstate highway. Over time I have come to realize that it has a beauty rarely mentioned, but visible every day if I take the time to see it. I am partial to Franklin’s Montana skies, Beaver Pond and Chilson Beach, the many trucks that are going in and out of the two industrial parks that bookend the town, (with a particular shout-out to the Lays Potato Chip truck delivering to Stop & Shop), the commuter rail trains, and intersections in all types of weather. (If you are looking for the images from “The Photo Gardener” click here or from walks in the Forge Park Industrial Park, they can be viewed by clicking here.)

saw an article about Anne Lamott in the globe , printed it to bring to you. how’s your back? I meant to ask u before u left the other day. the article ends with a quote about coping with some of the ugliness in the world”What allows us to continue and occasionally glimpse a momentary goodness is attention, creation, love, and DESSERT.”( my caps).I read this while eating a slice of pecan pie. now i can cope!
