Went for the Flowers, Left with Time

paintingwithinapaintingtI went to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston yesterday to see the annual “Art in Bloom” exhibit.  I have learned to go early as many of the flower arrangements begin to droop by the second day.   I enjoyed the floral arrangements, particularly one in the Contemporary wing that was inspired by “Untitled” by Shu-Red.  It was one flower only, Anthurium, and it was arranged perfectly to prove the rule, “less is more”.    (The Contemporary wing didn’t get much floral love this year.)

But, what lingers in my mind was the art exhibit by Latin American artists titled, ” Permission to Be Global” and an elderly woman in a wheelchair looking at John Singleton Copley’s portrait of a man being attacked by a shark.  The experience of both these things were almost like paintings in themselves.

I believe it was a real incident in havana harbor. Watson did survive if i remember correctly. how funny to see it on your website. Its quite a picture and it probably got a lot of viewing when jaws was new. your photos are lovely. don’t stop.
