Welcome to Tree Peony world. It lasts about 24 hours. My neighbor is willing to allow me to cut a few blooms and I have to photograph them right away as I can almost see them aging in front of my eyes.
If ever a bloom was made for textures, this is it. It is so luxurious. Ridiculous, really. Brilliant for only nanoseconds and yet timeless.
