How to Be Alone

drivingalone1rev-coakleyHow to be Alone.  It’s the title of a book that I didn’t write but surely could.

What do I know after many years of traveling solo?

Don’t take photos while you are driving inside the car and holding a camera.  Instead, get a Monfrotto pump tripod & attach it to your hood.  Then, find an empty parking lot with trees at twilight. Set your shutter speed at 1/10th of a second if possible.  Then, get back in the car and drive. Flash your speedlight on your lap at the same time the wireless transmitter triggers the shutter of your Canon 5DMark 11 and hope to hell the camera stays on the hood.  (It did.)

Even if the camera falls off, it won’t cost as much as a divorce.

Imagine. I have pearls of wisdom like this most every day.  Check back.
