Behind the Wheel

Motion Mastery 101 continues.  This was taken while driving by a local Junior College headed toward St. Mary’s Church (How many of those do you think there are in the universe?”).  I’m told that St. Mary’s, like many Catholic churches, does not have enough priests to tend to their flock so they have “missionaries” from Africa come to be the parish priests.

Since I grew up in an era when missionaries were US nuns and priests going to Africa, I find this as it should be.  Of course, I’m not longer a Catholic so who cares what I think.

  1. Tysdaddy: Nope, sorry. Not even close. Just an observation that if you have a group of people who think their mission is to “convert” the poor to their religious beliefs, it seems very fitting to me that when your rich, gold gilded church implodes from corruption, that those once poor come to save you. Does that sound religious to you?

  2. A very astute observation, my friend. We haven’t seen much fallout in our area, but I’m sure the Catholic churches in our area are feeling the pinch . . .

  3. Ahhh, the rectory table turns……..

    Very timely, very fitting.

We’re getting a numbskull out of Washington, let’s get religion out of politics.

    Great photo.

  4. Tysdaddy, I don’t think there is any Catholic church that has not seen the fallout, one way or another. Either a shortage of priests or parishioners.

Bonnie, as the rectory table turns…sweet! Numbskull. I love that word.

Hey, palpinao! I’m glad you like it!
