I’ve done another photo transfer to an encaustic board that was a bit more successful than the first! Why was it more successful?
1. I used better paper: Epson Presentation Matte paper. I am hopeless transferring images from toner based copy paper. HOPELESS.
2. I didn’t burnish it with the weight of the world on my shoulders. I just went over it with firmness but not so strong that I tore the paper.
3. When I added water, I didn’t flood the image but moistened it and started rubbing lightly with my fingers. Steadily adding a bit more water as the paper began to come away.
4. So, the transfer process was more successful but the post-transfer process still has “issues”.
I hate “issues” but they are part of being creative.
