Snacks for Kapoor

Today I am going to take the train into Boston to the Institute of Contemporary Art which has a new exhibit of sculptor, Anish Kapoor. Please see a glorious photo taken by girlgiot on her photoblog of his sculpture in Chicago affectionately called “The Bean” but formally called, “Cloud Gate”. Click here to see it and see it you must.

For my train trip (about an hour), I decided to get a few snacks inspired by comments to my previous post. I left out, Cheez-Its, in deference to Amber, and would have chosen the multi-grain Cheetos (yes, they really truly have them) but their cellophane was not orange and red. I have standards, people. Aesthetics are important when it comes to snacks.

And, if you don’t think the food police get up early, come to my Super Stop and Shop at around 6:30 AM. I’m waiting in line with my Pop Tarts S’Mores, Little Debbie Cupcakes, Cheeto Puffs and two leafy bunches of celery. The woman standing behind me, took a photo of my items on the belt and then starting texting.

Amber, do you have a friend who lives near me?

Toodles, Cheezy Doodles. It’s gonna be a great day.

  1. OK I am crying! Who needs celery when the pop tarts have 7 vitamins AND Minerals!!! No wonder they don’t sell them over here, way too healthy for our population! Sorry will have to come back later and leave a proper comment I seriously just can’t stop laughing, oh how I needed this today!

  2. Good God ! You would lose weight if you stuck to baked popatos and grilled spiders. The celerymust be embarrassed in that sack of WMDs.

  3. You have me so rattled I spelt potato wrong not that any potato you cook should be spelt right.

  4. I’d go eat at your house ANYTIME!!! You are obviously a woman of great taste. It is also true Pop Tarts must be extremely healthy for you with the 7 vitamins and minerals. I surmise that if you opted for a fruit flavor instead of the chocolate, you’d be getting even more nutritious goodness (I know the chocolate is oh so tempting, but you have to make sacrifices sometimes.)

  5. OMG! That is so hilarious! I only said that I don’t like the flavor of cheese its and poptarts. I think they are gross. However, the cupcakes do look good. What the hell is the celery doing there??? Oh no… far too healthy!

No, I didnt send the diet police in your direction. At least they aren’t hounding me for a change!

That is so funny pat…. I hope you eat the whole box and enjoy.

  6. Looks like alms for Ka-poor, to me.

Have I cheated by checking the later posting of you and the stalks only, leaving Little Debby behind?
Do you want your audience to perceive you as some frump in a muu-muu when in fact, you are one stunning dame?

If this is your ploy to keep stalkers ( and I don’t mean the celery kind ) or suitors from your door, and hence, having to change the name of your blog, then you would have succeeded if you DIDN’T post that oh so beautiful picture of yourself.

I can only try to conjure up your next post, after the exhibit, which, thanks for the link, looks brilliant.

    Gaaads, I’m falling behind.

  7. Zook be partial to the Strawberry Milkshake Pop Tarts. I buy them. I get hugs. And for a teenager, hugs are not the norm.

    Enjoy the show!

  8. I cannot imagine taking a picture of what the person in front of me in the grocery queue was buying, then sending it to a friend. Don’t get me wrong – I’ve laughed inside over people’s purchases, even commented to them jovially on occasion, but never gone quite that far.

I don’t know how far you live from Bah-ston, or how many peopl will be sharing your bag, but by the looks of it you have several days worth of snacks there. Even the celery from the next post looks like about a weeks worth.

“The Bean” looks cool though. Take lots of pictures of your adventure!
