Tulip Love

If I were Captain and Tennile, I’d write a song called, “Tulip Love”.

Don’t know who Captain and Tennille are?

Don’t ask.

They once were asked to perform for the Queen of England on a visit to the White House (reportedly they were booked because the Queen was known to be a fan) and sang their big hit, “Muskrat Love”.

That should be reason enough to question the wisdom of a monarchy, don’t you think?

  1. oh, the freshness of flowers and ah yes the captain and tenille, i do remember vaguely how fresh they were, singing such cute songs when everybody else was dolorous

  2. Argh! Ahhh yes. Muskrat Love. Truly the zenith of American music. *shudder*

When I was a kid, I remember being confused by the name and thinking it was The Captain Entennile and wondering who the lady was.. and why the Captain got all the billing.

As for the wisdom of the monarchy, I think that’s a pretty shallow hole. A few hundred years of “selected breeding” and you too can have your own eugenics nightmare.

Lovely tulips though! Makes me proud to be married to a partly Dutch merchant family.
