I live off a road that appears to be an interstate in terms of tonnage. 18 wheelers dominate this two lane road. I decided to try to make it into a plus rather than a plague by photographing them.
I also remember in 2008 and 2009 when the truck traffic fell off dramatically due to the world financial crisis and I actually missed them. Their absence signified the trouble we were in. The vacancy signs in two industrial parks that bookend my town were noticeably visible.
The trucks are back in 2012 and the vacancy signs in the industrial parks are fewer but still visible.
Who knew? Hope comes in 18 wheelers.
